WHY IS IT CALLED ORIGINS?
The disproportionate size of Africa on many maps is a result of a cartographic projection known as the Mercator projection. This projection, widely used for navigation, stretches areas closer to the poles, making them appear larger than they are in reality.
Since Africa is located primarily in the equatorial region, it is significantly underrepresented in size compared to continents closer to the poles, like North America and Europe.
This distortion has led to misconceptions about the relative size of continents and has contributed to a Eurocentric worldview.
We believe the birthplace of humanity (origin) should be placed in it's proper context so we created a timepiece to highlight that.
